About Us

Karen and Allie Doss
THE ARKINS-STEVE, JENNIFER AND KAREN ARKIN

Suicide Prevention Education Awareness for Kids United as Partners Foundation

About The Founders

The Arkin and Doss families share the same devastation in losing a beloved child in 2015: Jason Arkin and Sara Prideaux. It is from these tragic events that we decided to rise from the fiery ashes and create this foundation. We are two families who have walked different paths ending in one united fight. We are united in breaking the silence and reducing stigma surrounding all mental illness and suicide. Our hope is that SPEAK UP will provide education and awareness in our community bridging the gaps between community, schools and parents. We want to encourage open conversations with our children and educate our community about the different signs of children who may be at risk. We hope that you will join our fight and pledge to end the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide.

Our Board Members

Our board consists of members in our community who want to support the mission of SPEAK UP to reduce the stigma around mental health while bringing suicide prevention, awareness and education to the youth.
